A group of retirees consisting of ANG, AFRES, USAF
and Civilians, all who served at Memphis Air Base, banded together to provide a form of recognition to all personnel who have served on the base regardless of branch of service. Pre-WWII thru now and beyond.
OUR PURPOSE: Recognition of military or civilian service to the United States of America Armed Services and to inform and educate future generations of the service performed by these individuals.
HOW: Installation of individual bricks - 4" x 8" or 8" x 8" sizes - individually inscribed with: rank; name; unit of assignment; and calendar years assigned to the unit.
Bricks will be installed around the fountain (Inset) which was first installed at the 4th Ferry Group - WWII. The
fountain is the only remaining item from the original base and has been refurbed (exterior only).
Brick costs: Number 1 - $65 /// Number 2 -$80.
No. 1 - 4 x 8 / 3 inscribed lines- 14 letters per line.
No. 2 - 8 x 8 / 6 inscribed lines- 14 letters per line.
Length and width measured in inches.
